"TAKES YOUR BREATH AWAY!"
Let us take your breath away with the most spectacular scenery on the entire island. We take you up the mountains and through the villages so that you learn about Dominican culture, customs, history, plants and animals. A jeep safari is the ideal way to get a feel of the real Dominican Republic; an island rich with so much more than the pearly white beaches.
You will visit a small school and learn about education in the Dominican Republic (note: circumstances do not always allow us to go inside the school and sometimes we can only stop in front to have a look!).
You will visit a beautiful hacienda and go for a scenic horseback ride (approx. 20 minutes). Then we will visit a sugar cane field and show you how sugar cane is pressed by machine and how it was done in the old days when oxen were used to pull a wooden mill. You will be invited to sample freshly squeezed sugar cane juice. Our next stop will be at a family’s home to see how a typical Dominican family lives in the country side and uses the land for their daily consumption. You will learn about the different tropical fruits and see how cocoa beans, coffee beans, pineapple, vanilla, cinnamon, etc. are grown. After a short demonstration it is time to sample the goods! You will be invited to taste organic cocoa, coffee, tropical fruits, and have a shot of the famous mamajuana!
After lunch we continue and visit the beautiful Macao Beach for a nice swim and time to enjoy the beach before we head back to the hotel.
